USB Speakers

Author: Administrator Category: USB Speakers

There are many types of speaker systems to choose from, and USB speakers are the latest models from major manufacturers. Philips has brought out a line of miniature speakers, that come in a set with classy looks and good quality sound reproduction. Each USB speaker comes with one major advantage, which is the ability to use them with batteries. If your batteries run down, you can connect the speakers to a USB port on your PC or laptop, and you'll be back up in no time.

A USB speaker is specifically designed in a shape that makes them easy to take with you wherever you go, whether you stow them in a backpack, handbag or laptop bag. They come in so handy when you want to hear a certain track on your laptop, but those speakers don't give you quality sound. If you don't want to pass ear buds or headphones around, a USB speaker is the gadget to have. Just hook the speakers up to your audio output and enjoy the sounds.

You will no doubt enjoy the Philips Portable USB speaker and its cable management system. It lets you stow the cables in an orderly and neat manner, so that you won't be plagued with knots and clutters. It will also give you enough cable length that you can place two speakers more widely apart, to enhance the sound stage and stereo separation of your audio. You can also use these USB speakers with your iPod, gaming console or computer, for the maximum in convenience and comfort.

A USB speaker may look somewhat uncommon, compared to other speakers. The grille has perforations that make it look more like an old telephone receiver than an ultra-modern set of speakers. This doesn't make the speakers any less “cool”, though, and they are very inexpensive to purchase.

You can also choose Teufel speakers to plug into your USB ports for music with excellent sound. The secret to their Concept B 200 USBs can be found in the name. Instead of plugging them into your audio output, these have an amplifier that connects to a USB port. This is beneficial because by connecting in this manner, this set bypasses the PC's own sound card, which usually doesn't produce very good sound, truth be told. There is more than one reason to connect this way. First, the amp unit's decoding of digital to analog sound will be more accurate than that of your PC. And second, if you amplify an already-amplified sound (as normal speakers do), the sound will degrade. Teufel's set handily avoids this.

If you pick up a heavy amp unit, you can get a good idea of the sound quality it puts out. The power is drawn also from the mains, through a kettle lead. It can also be a sharp-looking unit, with anodized aluminum case and the glossy plastic front. Teufel's amp doubles as a USB hub. There are two USB ports at the amp's back side, and a 'B' connector that goes to the PC. The rear of the amp also has phono inputs, right and left USB speakers connectors, an input jack and the power switch.
